I have been fortunate in life to have eaten at a lot of nice restaurants in a lot of different cities in different countries. And I would consider myself to be a foodie (even though my palate aint shit!)
Having said all of that I am not hard to win over.
It doesnt take much to make me tell everybody who listens how good your food, drinks and coffee cake is. I’ll do that all day if I like your food.
But the restaurants that always keep me coming back and telling my friends and family about are the restaurants that offer FREEBIES.
I mean free bread, significantly cheaper drinks, free desserts, etc…. You Got me dawg!
There have been a few restaurants in my life that stood out in this instance. Carrabas or Pastabilities (in Syracuse, NY) always stood out because of thier fantastic bread and dipping offerings. Carrabas has the Tuscan Spice and Olive Oil mix and Pastabilities has this Hot Tomato Oil concoction that the gods have hidden from us!
Victoria and Albert’s in Orlando Florida has you and your dates name on the Menu when you arrive and then they give you your own waiter, waitress and sommelier.
Breadwinners (in Dallas) hits you off with the most fantastic dessert breads during brunch for the free!
And the newest addition to the Fam Knife Restaurant here in Dallas hit us off with the best freebies throughout the night as I just cant help but share the deets!!!
To start I have to ask you guys a question. Have you ever been to a restaurant that has a chefs table? Don’t they always try to tax you somehow on that reservation? Well at Knife the Chefs table is not only free but probably has the dopest view in the house. Its like having a bomb ass meal and watching a cooking show at the same time. And if you end up in a place that has chefs that have personality then you dont know what you will end up getting for free. ( I once got an entire bottle of wine for free at Fat Rice in Chicago)
So we got to sit at the Chefs bar for free and then they slid us a complimentary Crudite. (Dont worry I didnt know what the hell it was before they slid that shit in front of me either) But Crudities are just pieces of raw vegetables (such as celery or carrot sticks) served as an hors d’oeuvre often with a dip,
Them weird looking little vegetables were hitting!!!
After that we got to the food we ordered that looked like THIS!!!
Yeah yall see that shit!!! And it tasted just as good as it looked. Dont even ask me what any of it was either, Go find out for yourself.
So after kicking our asses with all of that food they slid us this for the free!
